Coming on board as a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and improving the quality performance of suppliers to meet Company's production standards. This role includes conducting supplier audits, managing incoming quality inspections, driving corrective actions, and supporting supplier development initiatives to ensure defect-free components and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, qualify, and monitor suppliers for compliance with quality standards and requirements.
- Perform incoming inspection audits and lead resolution of non-conforming materials.
- Conduct regular supplier audits (process, system, and product) to assess quality capability and ensure adherence to ISO, IPC, and customer-specific standards.
- Investigate supplier-related quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work with procurement and engineering teams on new supplier approval and onboarding.
- Develop and maintain quality agreements, specifications, and inspection criteria for purchased parts.
- Support NPI by ensuring timely and quality-compliant supplier contributions (e.g., PPAP, FAIR).
- Track and analyze supplier performance metrics (PPM, DPPM, OTD, etc.) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) process and follow up for timely closures.
- Communicate directly with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality or QA role in an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with electronic components, PCBs, mechanical parts, and packaging materials.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with quality tools and methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, etc.).
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications .
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to supplier sites as needed.
