Role Overview

The Design Institute Mapping Manager is responsible for driving product specifications into design institutes, architectural firms, and engineering consultants in Malaysia. The role focuses on ensuring the company’s building materials are specified in early project stages (tender drawings, technical schedules), thereby creating a sales pipeline for the project sales team.

This role bridges technical product knowledge with pre-sales specification activities.

Key Responsibilitie

s1. Design Institute & Consultant Engagemen

• tBuild and maintain strong relationships with key design institutes, architects, C&S consultants, M&E engineers, and project specifiers in KL and surrounding regions
• .Conduct technical presentations and lunch-and-learn sessions to promote product specifications
• .Position the company’s building materials (waterproofing, roofing, coatings, adhesives, etc.) as preferred or mandatory specifications in design drawings

.2. Project Mapping & Specification Closur

• eIdentify upcoming commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects at early design stage
• .Work closely with design consultants to map products into drawings, bills of quantities (BOQ), and technical schedules
• .Track specification status and ensure products are locked in before tender stage

.3. Cross-functional Coordinatio

• nCollaborate with the project sales team to hand over specified projects for commercial closure
• .Provide technical input and product data sheets, test reports, and samples to consultants
• .Align with marketing team on technical literature, brochures, and BIM objects

.4. Market Intelligence & Reportin

• gMonitor competitor activities in the specification space (product substitution risks)
• .Maintain a live database of specified projects (project name, consultant, stage, estimated volume)
• .Report weekly on new specifications, upcoming tenders, and conversion rates
