Our client is a global leader in semiconductor equipment, supporting some of the world’s most advanced chip manufacturers.
They are looking for a Field Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced equipment at customer sites.
This is a hands-on technical role suited for someone who enjoys working directly with complex equipment, solving technical problems, and supporting customers in a fast-paced high-tech manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced equipment at customer sites
- Diagnose equipment issues and carry out corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Support customers during equipment start-up, qualification, and ongoing production
- Provide on-site technical support in a cleanroom / high-tech manufacturing environment
- Work closely with internal engineering, technical support, and customer teams to resolve complex equipment issues
- Document service activities, technical findings, and corrective actions clearly
- Ensure all work is performed in line with safety, quality, and customer requirements
- Support standby, overtime, and shift-based operations depending on customer and business needs
Shift Work & Working Hours
This role is shift-based and requires a high level of flexibility.
The team works on rotating shifts, which may include:
- 12-hour day/night shifts on a 4-3-3-4 schedule
- 8-hour morning / afternoon / night swing shifts
- Shift patterns that may rotate frequently depending on business needs
- Each shift arrangement may last around 2–3 months before changing
There will also be:
- Overtime, usually around 50–60 hours per month
- Standby duty of around 1 week per month
- Support during nights, weekends, or public holidays when required
This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable working in a demanding manufacturing support environment and is flexible with changing shift schedules and working hours.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, field service, troubleshooting, or manufacturing support
- Experience in semiconductor equipment is not mandatory
- Candidates from electronics, O&G, automation, solar, marine, precision equipment, vacuum systems, plasma/RF, robotics, medical devices, aerospace, industrial machinery, or other high-tech equipment environments are welcome to apply
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom / high-tech manufacturing environment
- Able to work under pressure and respond quickly to equipment issues
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently at customer sites while coordinating with internal teams
- Good communication skills and a customer-facing mindset
- Willing to work on rotating shifts, overtime, standby duty, weekends, and public holidays when required
