Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Centre Operations & Administration

  • Oversee the smooth daily operations of the preschool centre.
  • Ensure compliance with ECDA, SPARK, MOH, NEA and safety regulations.
  • Manage enrolment, attendance, staffing schedules and centre documentation.
  • Monitor cleanliness, safety and maintenance of the centre environment.
  • Handle incidents, emergencies and parent concerns professionally.

2. Curriculum & Programme Leadership

  • Guide teachers in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate programmes aligned with the EYDF/NEL framework.
  • Monitor lesson plans, observations, portfolios and children’s assessments.
  • Support inquiry-based and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Ensure classrooms maintain engaging learning environments and quality teaching practices.

3. Staff Management & Professional Development

  • Lead, mentor and support teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support staff performance appraisals, probation reviews and professional growth.
  • Foster teamwork, professionalism and positive staff morale.

4. Parent & Community Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with parents through effective communication and engagement.
  • Address parent enquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organise parent engagement activities, events and centre programmes.
  • Collaborate with community partners and external agencies for learning experiences and events.

5. Financial & Resource Management

  • Monitor centre resources, inventory and budget utilisation.
  • Support fee collection, subsidy matters and administrative processes.
  • Ensure materials and resources are sufficient and well-maintained.

6. Child Safety & Well-Being

  • Ensure children’s health, safety, and emotional well-being are prioritised at all times.
  • Implement proper supervision and risk management procedures.
  • Support inclusive practices and positive guidance strategies for children.
