Responsibilities

Project Scheduler – Data Centre Construction


Location: Puncak Alam or Port Dickson, Malaysia


Contract: 1-year renewable


Client Type: Project Management Consultancy (PMC)


Project Type: Hyperscale / Large-scale Construction (Construction + Commissioning phase)


Role Overview

The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and controlling the integrated construction and commissioning schedule for a data centre development. This role sits on the PMC/client-side, working closely with the Project Manager, discipline leads, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure schedule integrity, risk visibility, and timely project delivery.

Design responsibilities are not required; the focus is on construction execution through commissioning.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the master integrated project schedule covering construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities
  • Review, validate, and integrate contractor-submitted schedules into the overall programme
  • Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk identification, and mitigation planning
  • Monitor progress, analyse variances, and prepare look-ahead schedules
  • Conduct schedule impact analysis for changes, delays, and recovery plans
  • Support phasing, sequencing, and interface coordination across disciplines (civil, MEP, ELV, commissioning)
  • Provide regular schedule reports, dashboards, and progress summaries to PMC and client stakeholders
  • Participate in progress meetings and drive schedule-related discussions and action items
  • Support commissioning milestones, system readiness, and phased handover planning


Tools & Methods

  • Primavera P6 (mandatory)
  • Progress measurement methodologies and earned value concepts
  • Schedule logic validation and float management
  • Interface management between contractors and vendors


Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Strong experience as a Project Scheduler / Planning Engineer on complex construction projects
  • Proven capability managing large, multi-package schedules
  • Experience on EPCM / PMC / client-side projects strongly preferred
  • Prior data centre experience advantageous but not essential
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
