About Halogen (Singapore)

Halogen is an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) charity dedicated to helping youths from all walks of life realise their fullest potential.

We believe every young person has the ability to create positive change. Through leadership development, mentorship, and incubation opportunities, we equip youths with the character, mindsets, and skill sets to lead themselves, others, and change.

Since 2003, we have worked with thousands of youths across Singapore, partnering schools and organisations to empower and develop future-ready young people who can catalyse change in their communities.

About the Role

The Halogen Associate Trainer Programme aims to provide a platform for interested volunteers to explore both personal and professional growth through meaningful training and facilitation opportunities. Be part of a community of like-minded individuals, ready to make an impact in the lives of youth.

You will lead and facilitate engaging classroom-based learning experiences designed to develop character, mindsets, and leadership capabilities in young people. You will grow through a structured trainer journey, from shadowing experienced trainers to hands-on programme delivery, and eventually leading sessions independently, supported by ongoing guidance and feedback.

  • Manage classroom dynamics for groups of 30–60 youths, while creating a safe, engaging, and conducive learning environment.
  • Deliver trainer guides and programme materials effectively through clear communication, storytelling, questioning, and facilitation techniques.
  • Guide youths in developing character, confidence, leadership mindsets, and future-ready competencies.
  • Work closely with Halogen’s Academy Operations team to ensure the smooth delivery of programmes.

Requirements

As an Associate Trainer, you are required to:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be confident speaking in front of groups of 30–60 youths
  • Demonstrate energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to effectively manage classroom discussions, activities, and group sharing
  • Communicate clearly and adapt your delivery to different youth profiles and learning environments
  • Be teachable and open to feedback, coaching, and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with the Halogen team to ensure the smooth delivery of programmes across both physical and online classrooms
  • Be MOE-IRS certified and adhere to MOE and Halogen’s Code of Conduct for Instructors
