Role Overview

The Cybersecurity Specialist will be responsible for safeguarding web-based systems and supporting the organization’s overall security posture across application and infrastructure layers. This role requires a balanced understanding of both offensive (Red Hat) and defensive (White Hat) security practices to proactively identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and ensure secure system operations.

The position works closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure security is embedded throughout the system lifecycle, from detection to remediation.

Key Responsibilities

• Protect and secure web-based systems against potential cyber threats
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities
• Identify security gaps and provide remediation recommendations
• Strengthen application, infrastructure, and network security controls
• Support security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response activities
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement security best practices
• Assist in maintaining security compliance and risk mitigation initiatives
• Document security findings and ensure proper tracking of remediation actions

Requirements

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
• Strong experience in web application security and system security
• Solid understanding of both Red Hat (offensive security) and White Hat (defensive security) practices
• Hands-on experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
• Familiar with security frameworks and methodologies (e.g., OWASP Top 10)
• Experience working with security tools such as Burp Suite, Linux environments (Red Hat preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to communicate technical security risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (development, infrastructure, operations)
