Position Summary:


  • Provide responsible and skilled leadership in directing all facets of retail operations in the region/area.
  • Assist the stores in the region/area to achieve budgeted revenues & profit goals, monitoring expenses and other retail performance criteria’s.
  • Guide the stores in the region/area to provide customers with the highest level of service
  • Maintain inventory integrity – minimise stock losses & insure monthly (& daily if necessary) stock counts
  • Implement & monitor appropriate actions to achieve retail performance goals in different areas: Store Opening/Renovation, Store Ops, HR, Customer Care, Logistics, IT and Administration.


Key Responsibilities:


Provide Leadership in the retail operations in the Region/ Area

  • Develop a close working relationship with all relevant stakeholders in the region : store staff, General managers, suppliers, maintenance vendors and landlords where applicable
  • Analyse local business environment, competition, trends and work with Brands/Area Managers to plan their business accordingly
  • Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues


Optimize the sales, profits and other retail performance criterias

  • Analyse sales figures, monitor expenses to optimize sales and profits
  • Develop & implement efficient in-store management systems to monitor operating costs
  • Initiate changes to improve the business e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market
  • Assess and prioritize all store maintenance issues working with the Store Managers. This includes contingent, recurring and refurbish maintenance projects.
  • Coordinate all matters related to POS systems - receiving records, invoices, transfers, shortage and damage reports and purchase orders


Support Store Openings / Renovations

  • Liaise with relevant departments (eg. store design, projects, VM, …) to ensure operational needs are met in all new store environments/renovations
  • Support General Manager & operations team in store opening process and coach the SLT team during new store opening
  • Assist in the recruitment of the staff and proper on-boarding & Trainings.


Ensure that Retail Standards are maintained

  • Monitor and ensure compliance to all retail standards and local regulatory requirements
  • Ensure the store & back of house are kept neat and tidy in line with VG standards - proper care for stocks, fixtures and furniture
  • Visual displays and merchandising to be in accordance with Brand Visual Merchandising Guidelines
  • Be vigilant and practice regular checks on staff movements during operating hours


Achieve High Service Standards

  • Responding to customer complaints and dealing with staffs issues if required,
  • Benchmark competitors in terms of service standards,
  • Train appropriately & on-going basis staff in service standards, or any Service Training that is relevant.


Maintain Inventory integrity

  • Work with the store staff to manage inventory and minimize stock losses (within agreed level of tolerance per brand/product category)
  • Make sure that the stock count is performed regularly as scheduled by business requirement.
  • Play a leading role when inventory integrity issues occur –Investigate and recommend corrective actions


Provide People Leadership

  • Lead/coach front-line staffs to achieve business goals
  • Ensure that front-line staffs are properly recruited in balance segmentations and trained in product knowledge, service, retail standards, integrity, people management, …
  • Assist to conduct staff appraisal and quarterly performance review
  • Improve staff morale leading to positive and dynamic working attitude
  • Lead employee engagement activities across stores in the region/area
  • Maintain general and acceptable staff working conditions
  • Support store PIC, Brand / Area Manager on staff related issues Discipline, work performance, sales
