Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Design: Create and execute a comprehensive student development plan including lesson materials, body conditioning techniques, and choreography.
  • Performance Preparation: Train and support students for school performances, national-level presentations (SYF Arts Presentation), and external competitions.
  • Holistic Development: Inculcate 21st Century Competencies such as adaptive thinking, collaboration, and cross-cultural literacy.
  • Safety & Conduct: Maintain professional boundaries, prioritize student safety (physical and emotional), and adhere strictly to the MOE Expectations of Instructors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Teachers-in-Charge to refine the programme to meet the school's specific needs.

Requirements

  • Mandatory Registration: Must be a registered MOE CCA Dance Instructor as of the closing date.
  • Experience: Preferably at least 3 years of coaching experience in International Dance within a primary school setting.
  • Qualifications: Should possess relevant certificate(s) related to Dance.
  • Skills: Competency in handling Primary 3 to 6 students and the ability to teach in English.
  • Track Record: Ability to provide a list of training conducted for similar programmes from 1 Jan 2022 onwards.
  • Citizenship/Work Pass: Non-Singaporeans/PRs must possess a valid Employment Pass issued by MOM for the entire contract duration.

Professional Expectations

  • Conduct: Display professional behavior, practice good sportsmanship, and avoid any inappropriate interactions or social media posts regarding school activities.
  • Boundaries: Maintain clear instructor-student boundaries; avoid one-on-one meetings in secluded spaces.
  • Communication: Content of communication must remain professional and avoid personal, religious, or political bias.
  • Financial Integrity: Instructors must not collect money from students or parents unless explicitly authorized by the school.
