• 1–3 years of experience in video editing, content production, or a related agency or creative environment
• Demonstrated short-form video content for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Reels - a portfolio or active content profile is highly encouraged
• Proficient in CapCut, TikTok-native editing tools, and/or Meta Edits
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
• Strong grasp of platform-native formats, trending audio, caption styles, and engagement-driven storytelling
• Well-versed in local and international popular culture, viral trends, and the current entertainment landscape
• Communicates effectively in English and/or Bahasa Malaysia
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines
• Flexible, agile, and proactive in adapting to evolving client and platform needs
• Embraces and actively explores AI tools to improve content ideation, scripting, and production efficiency
• Photography skills (product, lifestyle, or event) are a bonus and will be viewed favourably

We are looking for a driven and trend-savvy Short-Form Video Editor to join our growing team at Sashimi Asia. You will be responsible for delivering scroll-stopping, platform-native video content that performs on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels, for market-leading clients in Malaysia. If you live and breathe short-form content and know what makes a video stop the scroll, we want to hear from you.

Primary Responsibilities 

1. Deliver polished, platform-ready short-form videos
   Consistently produce on-trend, on-brand videos for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Reels that meet client creative direction, drive engagement, and require minimal revision on first submission.
   
2. Own the full production cycle from brief to publish
   Ensure every project is delivered end-to-end with zero gaps, from a well-structured pre-production plan and an efficient shoot, to a final edit that is approved on time and to brief. Productions should run smoothly whether executed independently or as part of a team.
   
3. Keep Sashimi Asia's content visibly on-trend
   Proactively bring new ideas, viral formats, sounds, and platform-native techniques to the team, ensuring our clients' content never feels dated and is consistently among the first to adopt emerging trends relevant to their brand.
   
4. Build a track record of reliable, quality output
   Establish yourself as a dependable contributor, delivering work that meets quality standards, respects deadlines, and reflects the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously without compromising on output. 

Secondary Responsibilities

1. Turn briefs into strong creative concepts
   Translate client and internal briefs into clear, platform-appropriate video concepts that the team can execute confidently and that clients find easy to approve.
   
2. Contribute to a cohesive creative output across campaigns
   Collaborate effectively with designers and social media strategists so that video content is always cohesive with the broader campaign direction and creatively consistent across all touchpoints.
   
3. Ensure studio and equipment readiness at all times
   Maintain a well-organised production environment so that shoots can be executed efficiently without delays caused by equipment or logistical issues.
   
4. Support photography needs when required
   Assist in photography shoots where needed to supplement video deliverables. Photography skills are a welcomed bonus, though not the primary expectation of this role.
