Responsibilities
Overall Objective:
To assist and support Underwriters on one or more Class of Business at all times demonstrating care for customers and respect for the regulatory obligations of the Syndicate. Liaise effectively with team members to ensure timely and accurate release of documentation.
Job Tasks:
1. To provide underwriting administration support to the assigned Class(es) of Business as follows:
- Websure - Set up and input new business, renewals and reinstatements
- Carry out a range of technical transactions on Websure
- Compile renewal reports, maintain underwriting files and carry out other adhoc matters
- Provide technical underwriting support to other team members.
- To screen renewals and liaise with Underwriters.
2. Liaise with Accounts/Finance on credit control, DN/CN creation and premium instructions.
3. Ensure that company procedures and systems are followed and maintained, as per procedures and compliance manuals
4. Attend meetings with brokers and clients as and when required on renewals and new business.
5. Attend off site seminars and lectures on underwriting specific topics.
Knowledge Required:
1. Basic knowledge and understanding of:
• Underlying Principles of Insurance;
• All company specific procedures that relate to own role.
2. Basic knowledge and understanding of:
• Other lines of business
• Legal Principles;
• Financial Authority Rules and Regulations;
3. Demonstrate clear understanding of all company specific procedures that relate to own role.
4. Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of policies, underwriting and related issues through formal and informal learning, both internally and externally to the firm.
5. Develop and maintain market awareness.

1. Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships with both internal and external customers.
2. Ability to work supportively and jointly with colleagues.
3. Ability to work under pressure and flexibly when necessary, being particularly mindful of the peak periods that relate to your work.
4. Willingness to keep up to date with changes to regulations and legislation as appropriate.

7. Good written and spoken English.
8. Use highly developed communication skills, written, statistical and verbal, that are effective and meet business needs, for the production of reports.
9. Proficiency in Websure or other policy administration systems.
Generics Skills:
• Hardware – Keyboard skills/accurate data input skills
• Software – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
• Ability to manage underwriting documentation using SharePoint, Teams, or internal DMS platforms.
• Awareness of cybersecurity practices and proper handling of confidential data.

Qualification:
Degree in Insurance or other related field.
