IT Desktop Support Engineer
Location: Singapore
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on and service-oriented IT Desktop Support Engineer to support daily IT operations for our Singapore office. This role will be responsible for providing end-user IT support, managing office IT assets, supporting onboarding and offboarding, and maintaining basic network, endpoint, and SaaS systems.
The ideal candidate should be responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day desktop support for employees, including laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, meeting room equipment, and office IT peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, VPN, Wi-Fi, email, and system access issues.
- Manage IT onboarding and offboarding, including laptop setup, account creation, access control, and equipment return.
- Support Windows and macOS environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and basic troubleshooting.
- Manage IT assets, inventory records, software licenses, and related documentation.
- Support office network infrastructure, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, firewalls, and basic LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
- Assist with administration of SaaS tools such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Support IT security practices, including endpoint protection, access control, MFA, device encryption, and basic security compliance.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers for hardware procurement, repairs, network setup, and support issues.
- Provide onsite support for meetings, events, and video conferencing systems.
- Document common issues, troubleshooting steps, and internal IT processes.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in IT desktop support, IT support engineering, or internal IT operations.
- Hands-on experience with Windows and/or macOS troubleshooting.
- Familiar with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Active Directory / Azure AD, endpoint management, and common SaaS tools.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewall, and LAN troubleshooting.
- Experience with IT asset management, laptop provisioning, and employee onboarding/offboarding support.
- Strong problem-solving skills and service mindset.
- Able to work independently and respond quickly to user requests.
- Good communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus to support cross-border collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a technology, cloud, AI infrastructure, data center, or fast-growing startup environment.
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Intune, Jamf, JumpCloud, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices, endpoint protection, access management, and IT compliance.
- Experience supporting engineering teams, cloud infrastructure teams, or technical users is a plus.
- Basic exposure to Linux systems, cloud platforms, or server/network infrastructure would be advantageous.
