The MarTech Tech Lead owns the end-to-end technical architecture, integration design, and engineering governance of the Customer Engagement Platform (CEP). This role ensures scalable, reliable, and well-integrated MarTech capabilities across Customer Data Platform (CDP), Loyalty, Offer Automation, and Marketing Automation.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture & Integration Design
- Define and own end-to-end MarTech architecture across:
- Customer Data Platform (CDP): data ingestion, identity stitching, activation
- Marketing Automation: journey orchestration
- Loyalty & Offer Engine: transactions, rewards, rules
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure CEP architecture aligns with enterprise governing principles
- Support the design and implementation of middleware and API layers (e.g., APIM), ensuring CEP data aligns with the Common Data Model (CDM) in partnership with the data team
Integration & Data Flow Design
- Design and govern integration patterns, including:
- API-based integrations (via APIM)
- Event-driven architectures (e.g., streaming, pub/sub models)
- Batch processing for large-scale data synchronization
- Define data contracts, schemas, and event structures
- Ensure reliable and consistent data flows across systems, including POS, mobile apps, web platforms, CEP, and the data lake
- Lead technical cutovers of core platforms (e.g., CDP migrations), including:
- Data mapping
- Historical data migration
- Legacy system sunset planning
- Partner with Group IT and Security teams to ensure compliance with data security and privacy standards
Engineering Governance & Standards
- Establish technical standards and best practices for:
- Data ingestion
- Event tracking
- Identity resolution
- API integrations
- Review and approve:
- Solution designs
- Integration approaches
- Functional Solution Design (FSD) technical feasibility
- Monitor and optimize system latency and API efficiency
New Use Case & Capability Design
- Translate business requirements into:
- Scalable technical architectures
- Reusable design patterns
- Ensure new use cases:
- Align with overall system architecture
- Do not introduce technical debt
Problem Solving & Escalation (L3)
- Act as the Level 3 escalation point for complex technical issues, including:
- Data inconsistencies
- Integration failures
- System design gaps
- Identify and resolve root causes, not just surface-level symptoms
Vendor & Platform Management
- Work closely with CEP vendors to:
- Validate architecture decisions
- Challenge design assumptions
- Maximize effective use of platform capabilities
Platform Evolution & Roadmap
- Drive continuous improvement of the CEP stack, including:
- Performance optimization
- Data model enhancements
- Integration improvements
- Define and maintain the future-state architecture roadmap
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in MarTech, Data Engineering, Integration, or Platform roles
- Hands-on experience with CDP platforms and marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Breeze, Adobe)
- Strong understanding of:
- Event-driven architectures
- API integrations and webhooks
- Real-time and batch data pipelines
- Experience with API gateways (e.g., Apigee)
- Solid understanding of identity resolution and customer data models
- Experience working with SaaS platforms and external vendors
- Proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese (written and spoken) to support regional stakeholder engagement
