NV5 International Hiring! Full Time Construction Design - Project Engineer-Senior Engineer-Principal Engineer-Design Manager in Johor - Ricebowl

Key Responsibilities 

• Construction level design, design review & coordination in Mechanical / Electrical / Multi-disciplinary 
• Represent the Design Team on site to perform periodic inspection on construction works for the data centre project from a design angle 
• Ensure construction complies with approved design drawings, report, specifications, and contract requirements 
• Assess compatibility of the proposed equipment / materials 
• Periodic inspections and witnessing testing and commissioning of critical systems, such as mechanical cooling systems, power distribution system, ELV/ICT/BMS, fire protection, public health 
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, codes, and site safety standards 
• Review method statements, shop drawings, equipment and technical submissions 
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients, and authorities to resolve design related issues 
• Monitor progress, quality of work, and defect rectification 
• Highlight issues, delays, and non-compliances to the Project Manager / Design Team 
• Provide feedback on design outcomes / issues to the Design Team 
• Applying engineering skills to improve design and project outcome  

Required Skills 

• Prior experience in mechanical/ electrical system design for data centers/ mega-infrastructure/ commercial/ financial, and banking sectors. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Understanding of construction sequence, and ability to coordinate with civil and structure designs 
• Time management and prioritization skills 
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Client-facing experience with strong presentation skills 
• Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure/ MEP systems/ and commissioning processes 
• Ability to work independently and make sound site-based decisions 
• Team player with good communication and coordination skills in multi-disciplinary teams

Education / Experience / Attributes 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, majoring in Electrical/ Mechanical / ELV or related disciplines 
• Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience in design related roles / design coordination and 2+ years of site experience, preferably in data centre, mission critical, or large-scale MEP projects 
• Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer or Professional Engineer is preferred 
• Familiar with Malaysian standards, UBBL, CIDB, DOSH, and local authority requirements preferred 
• Desire for professional growth and upkeep high professional standards 
• Desire to learn and bridge any knowledge/ experience gap on the job
