About the Opportunity
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in a community hospital environment. In this role, you will assess and manage patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders, helping them achieve better functional outcomes and quality of life through patient-centred therapy interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct professional speech therapy assessments, consultations, and treatment sessions
- Develop and implement customised therapy plans based on patients’ clinical needs and rehabilitation goals
- Ensure therapy services are delivered in accordance with established clinical guidelines and protocols
- Educate and engage patients and caregivers on therapy progress, treatment goals, and care plans
- Provide supervision, training, and guidance to Therapy Assistants to support quality care delivery
- Support caseload coordination and staff deployment to maintain smooth service operations
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimise patient recovery outcomes
Requirements
- Recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy
- Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience as a Speech Therapist
- Prior experience in a community hospital setting will be an added advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
