To communicate with befrienders and beneficiaries of the ElderAid. Liaise with the befrienders, beneficiaries and community stakeholders to establish and maintain an effective befriending programme.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in strengthening SRC’s role in the local community, specifically in the Red Cross Community Hub.
Work closely with Sr/Executive of the ElderAid programme and Dy/Head on the development and progression of the befriending programme in the various districts.
Collaborate with grassroots, government and non-government agencies on the development and management of both the befrienders and the beneficiaries.
Provide quality and personalized one-stop information services for clients and community stakeholders.
Support training of befrienders to strengthen and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge.
Equip volunteers with adequate proficiency skills in the “Befriending of the Elderly” inthe community.
Ensure timely update of all information.
Coordinate with Programme Manager and relevant District Managers for the follow up of the client(s).
Plan and carry out local engagements for the volunteers in collaboration with the relevant District Managers.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications And Experience
Relevant Diploma from a recognised institution or;
Relevant Nitec Certificate from the Institute of Technical Education.
At least 2 years working experience in volunteer management is preferred.
Experience working in healthcare or with the elderly, would be advantageous.
Additional Skills And Knowledge
Good command of both spoken and written English.
Bilingual in English and a local language or dialect.
Computer literate.
