Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Procurement Officer, located in Kelang. The Procurement Officer will handle tasks related to purchasing materials, issuing purchase orders, and maintaining vendor relationships. Responsibilities include negotiating contracts, monitoring procurement processes, analyzing supplier proposals, ensuring timely delivery, and managing inventory to align with organizational needs and sustainability goals. Close collaboration with sales teams to optimize procurement strategies is also expected. GSI is a FSSC (Food Safety System Certification) ISO 22000 company, which also includes HALAL certified.

Qualifications

• Manage the day to day operations of the Supply Chain Group.
• Must be process oriented.
• Strong knowledge of Procurement and Purchasing processes, understand commodity markets movements as all of GSI procurement is related to global commodities market.
• Manage FSSC and other certifications required by GSI.
• Experience with Purchase Orders and Contract Negotiation
• Effective Analytical Skills for evaluating supplier performance and cost optimization
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools
• Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Familiarity with sustainable procurement practices and regulations is a plus
• Experience in the manufacturing or food ingredient industry is highly desirable
