Role Description

  • Conduct and deliver physiotherapy services for children, ensuring the effective implementation of appropriate assessments, physiotherapy diagnosis, treatment planning, and interventions in compliance with the centre’s SOPs, professional guidelines, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Uphold professional and ethical physiotherapy practice, including confidentiality, patient safety, informed consent, and professional conduct, in line with applicable regulatory requirements and Axon’s core values, mission, and vision.
  • Perform comprehensive physiotherapy assessments to identify functional limitations, movement difficulties, and developmental needs of paediatric clients.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualised physiotherapy intervention plans appropriate to the child’s age, developmental stage, functional abilities, and presenting concerns.
  • Apply appropriate assessment methods and outcome measures to monitor progress, evaluate intervention effectiveness, and inform clinical decision-making, in accordance with professional standards.
  • Deliver physiotherapy interventions including, but not limited to, therapeutic exercises, movement-based activities, positioning and handling strategies, mobility training, early intervention programmes, and home-based programmes.
  • Provide family-centred care, including education, guidance, and coaching to parents and caregivers to support the child’s functional development and carryover of therapy goals in daily routines.
  • Facilitate therapy sessions across clinical, educational, and naturalistic settings (including therapy rooms and preschool environments), as appropriate to the child’s needs and programme structure.
  • Monitor and support the functional and developmental progress of children, including those enrolled in Axon Children’s Centre programmes, and determine appropriate continuation, modification, or discharge of physiotherapy services.
  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including therapists, educators, and other professionals, to ensure coordinated, holistic, and child-centred care.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely documentation, clinical records, reports, and summaries in accordance with the centre’s systems, policies, and governance requirements.
  • Maintain and promote evidence-informed practice, including engagement in continuous professional development, reflective practice, and ongoing skills enhancement.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, audits, events, community outreach activities, and assigned portfolios in support of organisational goals and service excellence.
  • Provide professional support to the Head of Department and Management and carry out any additional duties reasonably assigned in line with professional scope and organisational needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Physiotherapy
  • Excellent in communication skills both in English and Bahasa Malaysia (verbal and written)
  • Able to practice evidence based approaches
  • Proactive with fun personality
  • Technology literate
  • Having other credentials/trainings/certificates in specialised area is an advantage
  • Registered with MAHPC
