Job Description

Responsibilities

Role Summary

The Senior Engineer is an early-career technical contributor in Cell Film Process Development, responsible for executing development activities on cell film modules supporting advanced NAND technologies, building fundamentals in thin film processes, disciplined experimental execution, and understanding process–device interactions under guidance from senior engineers. Executes defined process development plans and experiments with increasing independence; focuses on strong documentation, repeatability, and learning process knobs/sensitivities for assigned unit processes. Supports tool/process checks, routine troubleshooting, and early integration exposure to understand downstream device/yield impact.

Main Responsibilities

Process Execution & Learning

  • Execute established thin film processes (ALD/CVD) to defined procedures and development plans; run experiments and collect data with accurate documentation.

  • Build understanding of fundamentals, key knobs, and sensitivities for assigned film steps or unit processes.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform basic data analysis; identify trends/anomalies/repeatability issues; summarize results in structured formats and present findings with guidance.

Tool & Process Support

  • Support day-to-day PD activities on cell film equipment; learn tool operation principles, recipe structure, and basic hardware functionality.

  • Assist in tool qualifications, process checks, and routine troubleshooting.

Process Integration Exposure

  • Build basic understanding of how cell film steps impact integration/device behavior; support failure analysis learning activities for yield/reliability issues.

Collaboration & Development

  • Collaborate with senior engineers, equipment engineers, and integration teams; demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks/timelines; actively seek feedback and coaching.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, process settings, and learnings; produce technical reports and summaries.

Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field

  • With experience in thin film R&D for microelectronic devise, with a proven track record of leading complex technology development

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Fundamentals in thin film deposition (ALD/CVD), materials science, chemical reactions, vacuum systems; comfort with experimentation and data interpretation; willingness to learn fab metrology and tools.

  • Working knowledge of plasma processes, vacuum systems, and chemical reactions

  • Familiarity with electrical test methods and fab metrology tools

  • Understanding of NAND cell structures and basic device physics

Must-Have Soft Skills

  • Structured problem-solving and learning agility in an R&D environment.

  • Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Highly Desirable / Preferred

  • Ability to link process conditions to material properties and device behavior
