About the Role
We place fleet insurance for SMEs and corporate clients across logistics, distribution, construction, plantation, and ride-hail / delivery operators. You will be the operational backbone of this book — placing new business, managing renewals, handling endorsements, and making sure clients have a clean, professional experience every step of the way. This is a technically demanding execution role. You will work directly with insurer underwriters, client fleet managers, and our internal producers and account executives.
Key responsibilities
Placement and renewals
- Manage the end-to-end placement cycle for commercial motor fleet accounts: gather underwriting information, prepare submissions, negotiate quotes with insurers, present options, bind cover, issue cover notes.
- Operate a 90/60/30-day pre-renewal calendar across the book; ensure no renewal is allowed to lapse without conscious action.
- Negotiate fleet rating, NCD treatment, all-driver vs named-driver structures, betterment terms, and fleet-specific extensions (e.g., windscreen, special perils, contingent liability).
- Process mid-term endorsements: vehicle additions/deletions, sum insured adjustments, change of usage, transfer of interest.
Insurer and market relationships
- Maintain working relationships with motor underwriters across the Malaysian market
- Stay current on detariffication developments, PIAM circulars, and motor pool / RBC implications for fleet accounts.
- Operate insurer portals: ISM, eCover, MITC, and individual insurer portals as required.
Client servicing
- Be the operational point of contact for fleet clients post-binding: certificate issuance, schedule corrections, premium queries, claims notification.
- Coordinate with the claims team on fleet incidents — first notification of loss (FNOL), insurer notification, document collation, status updates.
- Produce clear, accurate documentation: cover notes, schedules, debit/credit notes, premium statements.
Operations and data integrity
- Maintain accurate policy and client data in our broker management system.
- Support finance with premium reconciliations, aged debtor follow-ups, and insurer settlement queries.
- Identify recurring operational frictions and propose process improvements — we want operators who think, not just execute.
