Senior Associate, Office of International Relations (Contract)
About the Role
The Senior Associate provides operational and programme support to the Office of International Relations for activities relating to collaborations with partner universities and student mobility initiatives, including short-term immersion programmes. The role requires independent management of programme planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and student support, while contributing to the implementation of IR’s strategy in assigned regions.
What You Will Do
- Assist the Manager in planning, implementing, and operationalising short-term immersion programmes and other student mobility initiatives.
- Conduct research on potential partner universities and programme opportunities and coordinate meetings with faculty and partners to explore collaborations.
- Support programme design discussions and coordinate follow-on activities with partner universities.
- Administer grants associated with short immersion programmes and follow up with students on award deliverables and reporting.
- Manage student applications, shortlisting, selection, and outcome communication.
- Coordinate travel logistics with partners, faculty, agencies, and students, including accommodation, transportation, and programme schedules.
- Organise pre-departure briefings and information sessions and monitor student compliance with programme requirements.
- Follow up on student deliverables, feedback, and appeals to improve programme processes.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with overseas universities and institutions to explore collaborations in student immersion programmes, academic exchanges, and other initiatives.
- Coordinate formalisation of collaborations through Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and Implementation Agreements (IAs).
- Plan and coordinate visits of partner universities or delegations to SUTD.
- Assist with reporting on SUTD deliverables, updating IR records, and maintaining programme databases.
- Support SUTD’s participation in international education conferences.
- Assist with website updates, research, report compilation, and event logistics as required.
Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree / GCE ‘A’ Level / Polytechnic qualification.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in higher education or international programme management.
- Experience managing or coordinating programmes, events, or student mobility initiatives, including short-term immersion programmes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AI tools, including ChatGPT or similar platforms, for prompt writing, content generation, and workflow automation, as well as familiarity with design tools such as Adobe, Figma, or Canva, is an advantage.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Independent, self-driven, meticulous, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interest in interacting with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and partner institutions.
- Willingness to travel on work trips.
