Responsibilities

Corporate Compliance Executive


Job Purpose

To support the organization in ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and corporate governance requirements, while promoting ethical business practices, effective risk management, and strong governance standards across the company.



Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Legal Compliance

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements (e.g. Companies Act, employment laws, regulatory guidelines).
  • Assist in maintaining company licenses, permits, and statutory filings with relevant authorities.
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors, auditors, regulators, and consultants when required.
  • Ensure proper documentation and version control for all compliance-related policies and procedures.

Corporate Governance

  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of corporate governance policies and frameworks.
  • Assist in the preparation of board papers, resolutions, minutes of meetings, and corporate records.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date statutory registers and corporate documents.

Risk Management & Internal Audit

  • Assist in updating and maintaining the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) registers.
  • Support internal audit activities, including responding to information requests and tracking audit action plans.
  • Identify compliance and operational risks, and assist in implementing corrective or preventive measures.
  • Conduct internal compliance checks and reviews to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

Business Continuity & Compliance Programs

  • Assist in the administration, coordination, and execution of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
  • Maintain databases and records for ongoing compliance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

Advisory, Training & Awareness

  • Provide basic compliance guidance and support to internal stakeholders and departments.
  • Assist in coordinating compliance-related training programs and awareness initiatives.
  • Track and update training metrics, attendance, and compliance records.
  • Promote a culture of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct throughout the organization.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare compliance reports, summaries, dashboards, and updates for management.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Track compliance action items, deadlines, and follow-ups to ensure timely closure.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Corporate Governance, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in compliance, internal audit, corporate secretarial, legal, or governance-related roles.
  • (Fresh graduates with strong academic background may be considered.)
  • Basic knowledge of corporate laws, regulatory frameworks, risk management, and governance practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail with excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Experience in retail, FMCG, or corporate group environments.
  • Familiarity with corporate secretarial practices, regulatory submissions, and audit processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office and compliance or risk tracking systems.
  • Calm under pressure
