About Us

LITEON is a world-leading provider of optoelectronic semiconductor components and power management modules. At LITEON we put people at the core - LITEON has built a culture of trust and empowerment that enhances employee involvement, engagement, and commitment to excellence.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Cloud Infrastructure Platform and Solutions (CIPS) Research Team. Our CIPS Research team is focussed on developing future technology systems to support growth in the rapidly evolving data center sector. The successful candidate will be directly involved in early-stage research projects, working with academic institutions, suppliers, customers, and partners to deliver proof of concept designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end program planning and execution for multiple research initiatives, from idea intake and scoping to feasibility builds and transition into product development teams.
  • Prepare and present program updates, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior leadership. Secure decisions on scope, funding, and timelines.
  • Build and maintain integrated project schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Manage dependencies across hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams whilst regularly reporting project status.
  • Work with lead engineers to translate process guidelines into clear research objectives, hypotheses, success criteria, and stage-gate exit requirements; lead gate reviews and manage stakeholder communications
  • Lead technical risk management, including DFMEA, risk registers, and mitigation plans. Track and retire risks tied to performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Drive prototype builds and structured experiments to inform down-select decisions and validate new technologies.
  • Collaborate with partners, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and accredited test labs on component evaluation, proof-of-concept builds, and pre-compliance testing.
  • Support IP generation and collaboration contracts in partnership with legal and engineering leadership.
  • Establish strong relationships with academic and industrial partners. Build customer relationships with clear communication of product and technology roadmaps.
  • Champion best practices in research portfolio management, including process optimisation, experiment prioritization, learning velocity, and reuse of platforms and modules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of program or project management experience in R&D for electro-mechanical systems and products.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex hardware-software research or feasibility programs through structured stage-gates.
  • Hands-on familiarity with prototyping and test workflows (EVT/DVT concepts, lab equipment, data acquisition) and translating results into decisions.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project or Smartsheet; Jira/Confluence).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, design, supply chain, and leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, set structure where none exists, and drive alignment across global, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong awareness of research landscape in Singapore

Why Join Us

  • Work in a world-class R&D environment with well-equipped labs, top-tier industry connections and collaborative teams.
  • Shape the future of energy-efficient data storage and AI cloud computing – from renewable energy integration to next generation infrastructure.
  • Opportunities to publish, patent and innovate designs for future products.
  • Competitive compensation, research autonomy and a continuous learning culture
