Responsibilities

About the job

We are looking for a Primary Teacher who has the heart and motivation to serve the underprivileged community through the work at Dignity for Children Foundation. You will be teaching in a non-profit school environment and working closely with students, parents, and fellow educators to create a holistic and nurturing learning experience.


The teacher is expected to be a positive mentor to young learners and responsible for delivering holistic lessons that support both academic and personal development. The teacher role is expected to communicate with parents of their students in terms of education as well as the occasional welfare matters, while creating and maintaining a safe learning space for their class.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver lessons using a variety of instructional strategies
  • Prepare and administer formative assessments to track students’ learning
  • Care for students’ wellbeing and holistic development, both in and out of class
  • Keep clear communication channels with parents regarding their child’s activities and behavior in class
  • Create and maintain a clean and developmentally-appropriate interactive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with the larger Dignity community for sports, art, students’ welfare/wellness, and more.


Education and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Teaching certifications and experience in teaching or leadership (preferred but not necessary)
  • Has experience in program development, curriculum writing and research skills
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create productive and healthy relationships
  • Ability to collaborate and work with teams
  • Ability to work independently


Technical Competency Requirements:

  • Computer competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Tools.


Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical school/office environment
  • Travel will be required when participating in student or staff workshops or camps outstation
  • Must be comfortable to participate in outdoor activities as required by education programs
