About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Developer to lead product development execution from concept to production, with a strong focus on sampling, supplier collaboration, and product readiness. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring products are well-developed, manufacturable, and delivered on time, while supporting CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) innovation from a technical and supplier capability perspective.
Responsibilities
1. Product Development & Sampling
- Own the end-to-end development process and ensure smooth execution from design to production readiness.
- Manage full sampling lifecycle: Prototype → Iteration → Pre-Production Sample (PPS) → Photoshoot sample by ensuring product meets the design intent, functionality & usability, & quality standards;
- Work closely with suppliers to: follow up sampling progress, resolve technical and production issues (fit, leakage, durability, etc.), improve sampling efficiency and turnaround time, & own development timeline and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Identify and flag risks early on design feasibility, production limitations, & quality concerns.
2. CMF Development
- Support CMF innovation from a technical feasibility and supplier capability perspective.
- Explore CMF opportunities through supplier capabilities, new materials, coatings, and finishing techniques.
- Work with suppliers to develop and test new finishes and printing methods, validate durability (scratch resistance, wash, discoloration, etc.).
- Provide technical input and proposals to design team on what is feasible, area of improvement, and new techniques can be applied on the products.
- Build and maintain a CMF reference library on the tested finishes, proven materials, & supplier capabilities.
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Drive alignment across teams to ensure smooth product execution.
- Collaborate with design (design intent & aesthetics), R&D (technical validation), QA/QC (testing & quality checks), procurement (cost, MOQ, supplier readiness).
- Ensure alignment at key stages ie. sampling reviews, Pre-Production Sample (PPS) approval, & Pre-production readiness.
- Flag and escalate risks related to timeline, quality, & supplier issues.
4. Specification & Documentation
- Ensure product information is accurate and ready for production.
- Own and maintain product specification sheets.
- Ensure all product details (materials, CMF, dimensions, packaging) are complete, accurate, & aligned across teams.
- Manage changes and updates throughout development & prepare finalized specs for handover to procurement.
5. Pre-Production Readiness
- Support final product readiness before mass production.
- Ensure PPS, specifications are finalized & approved after resolving the major issues.
- Coordinate with QA/QC to confirm on testing are completed & quality checks aligned.
- Support GO / NO GO decision-making before production.
What you need to have:
- 5+ years of experience in product development / manufacturing / industrial design.
- Strong experience in sampling development and supplier coordination particularly in consumer products (drinkware, lifestyle, accessories).
- Good understanding of materials, finishes, and production processes. Familiar with printing & finishing techniques ie. UV, transfer, coating, etc.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and strong execution mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Strong communication skills across cross-functional teams.
