Role Summary
Develops and executes end-to-end supply chain strategies, focusing on material planning, factory capacity optimization, subcontractor management, warehouse management and Logistics. The Director ensures seamless order confirmation processes and maintains optimum inventory levels to reduce costs while streamlining global operations.
Key Responsibilities
1) Integrated Planning / Subcontractor Management
- Factory/Supply & Material Planning: Oversees activities related to timely, cost-effective procurement and production planning for multiple sites.
- Subcon Planning: Directs and synchronizes planning activities for external subcontractors to ensure manufacturing continuity and capacity alignment for cost optimization.
- Short & Medium Term Planning: Owns the end-to-end planning processes to balance supply with global demand.
2) Inventory & Cost Control
- Optimum Inventory Levels: Ensures material availability as scheduled while maintaining inventory at minimum acceptable levels to optimize working capital.
- Financial Collaboration: Coordinates with Finance on inventory carrying costs and reviews requirements for acceptable inventory health.
- Policy Compliance: Partners with internal and external vendors to ensure full compliance with established inventory policies.
3) Order Fulfilment & Customer Satisfaction
- Order Confirmation: Manages the order management team to provide accurate commitment dates and high-quality service to global customers.
- Process Improvement: Implements material control systems and quality improvement processes to streamline fulfilment.
- Allocation management: Work closely with region / marketing for prioritization or allocation caused by any resource constraint.
- KPI : Meet and exceed supply chain and corporate KPI
4) Advanced Planning & Life Cycle Management
- NPI Planning: Leads the supply chain readiness for New Product Introductions (NPI), ensuring material availability and production capacity for product launches.
- PIPO (Phase-In/Phase-Out): Manages the transition of product variations, minimizing E&O (Excess and Obsolete) inventory through rigorous PIPO execution.
- Proliferation Control: Coordinates with Engineering and Marketing to manage product variation proliferation and ensure supply chain agility.
5) Warehouse and Logistics
- Warehouse Management: Oversees warehouse operations, ensuring 100% inventory accuracy, efficient space utilization, and safe material handling.
- Logistics & Distribution: Manages inbound and outbound logistics, optimizing freight costs and transit times while maintaining high standards of trade compliance practices.
6) Leadership & Compliance
- Talent Development: Hires, develops, and coaches subordinates to foster continuous improvement and career progression.
- Compliance & Safety: Understands and enforces supply chain security practices, Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of operational experience in a similar senior capacity. Proven experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Thorough understanding of Supply Chain planning systems, processes, and concepts. Familiar with common planning tools ERP/MRP.
