About our client: Our client is a Singapore based Design & Architecture company.
About the role: We are looking for a hands-on and practical FC to lead the finance function across Singapore and Malaysia, reporting directly to the CEO. This role emphasizes strong financial control, governance, and cost management, while ensuring alignment with the reporting and compliance standards of our listed parent company.
The FC will be a key partner to the CEO, driving financial discipline, transparency, and sustainable profitability. This is an operationally focused role with significant governance responsibilities.
1. Financial Leadership & Support
Lead and develop the finance teams in Singapore and Malaysia.
Provide clear financial guidance to support business decision-making.
Track profitability, costs, and overall performance.
Collaborate with operations and project teams to optimize results.
Develop KPIs and dashboards for performance monitoring.
2. Group Finance Communication & Representation
Act as the main finance contact with the listed parent company.
Present financial results, key changes, and business drivers clearly.
Explain business context behind the numbers.
Handle sensitive topics such as provisions, losses, project margins, and risks.
3. Governance, Risk & Internal Controls
Strengthen and maintain internal controls.
Ensure compliance with Singapore and Malaysia regulations.
Manage operational and financial risks effectively.
Ensure proper delegation of authority and approval processes.
Lead audits and promptly address audit findings.
4. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control
Prepare annual budgets and regular forecasts as requested by the parent company.
Monitor factory costs, project margins, and overheads.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without impacting operations.
Ensure departmental spending aligns with financial goals.
5. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for obligations.
Track receivables, payables, and inventory levels.
Manage banking relationships and loan facilities.
Optimize working capital for smooth operations.
6. Project & Factory Financial Oversight
Oversee financial performance of construction projects.
Track contract claims, billing, certifications, and collections.
Ensure projects remain within approved budgets.
Manage factory inventory, production costing, and capital expenditures.
7. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Lead and mentor finance teams across locations.
Standardize processes between Singapore and Malaysia.
Enhance systems, reporting efficiency, and financial controls.
Drive continuous improvement in finance operations.
About you:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA) preferred.
10–15 years of finance experience, including senior leadership roles.
Experience in manufacturing or project-based construction businesses is a plus.
Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, risk management, and compliance with Singapore and Malaysia regulations.
Proven experience leading and developing finance teams across locations.
Hands-on experience in cost control, project and factory financial management, and financial governance.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, integrity, and the ability to drive financial discipline and process improvements.
