Printer Support Technician

Location: Kuala Lumpur / Selangor
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: RM2,500 – RM4,500 (based on experience)

We are looking for a Printer Support Technician to join our IT Support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting printers and related devices to ensure smooth daily operations within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain printers, scanners, and multifunction devices
• Troubleshoot printer issues including connectivity, paper jams, driver errors, and print quality problems
• Support network printing, print servers, and wireless printing setup
• Monitor toner levels, printer performance, and preventive maintenance schedules
• Maintain inventory of printer supplies and spare parts
• Document support tickets, issue resolutions, and maintenance records
• Provide user support and guidance on printer usage and basic troubleshooting
• Escalate unresolved technical issues to vendors or senior IT teams when necessary

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience supporting printers and multifunction devices (HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Xerox, etc.)
• Basic networking knowledge including IP addressing and print server configuration
• Familiarity with Windows and Mac printing environments
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests

Preferred Skills

• Experience in enterprise printing environments
• Knowledge of Microsoft Universal Print or cloud printing solutions
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or ITIL are an advantage
