Jobs Kreate is recruiting on behalf of a client for a shipboard Assistant Waiter position. The successful candidate will support food and beverage operations, provide courteous dining service and help create a positive guest experience onboard.

Build your international hospitality career while sailing to exciting destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean, the Americas, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The actual vessel, itinerary and sailing region will be assigned by the company based on operational requirements.

Important: Cruise ship grading may differ from land-based hospitality structures. Candidates may be offered a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role, subject to the cruise line’s assessment and operational requirements.

• Open to Malaysian and Singaporean citizens only.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Waiter or in a similar food and beverage service position within a 4-star or 5-star hospitality or restaurant environment.

• Basic food and beverage knowledge with the ability to work independently.

• Previous shipboard experience is an advantage.

• Physically fit and able to carry heavy items and stand, kneel or bend for extended periods.

• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

• Additional language abilities are an advantage.

• Flexible, able to work under pressure and committed to teamwork.

• Guest-focused and service-oriented with a professional appearance and high personal hygiene standards.

• Good knowledge of public health, sanitation and food safety requirements.

Salary

• Salary: USD 1,650

• Contract duration: 6 months

• Present menus, explain food and wine selections and answer guests’ questions.

• Take and relay orders accurately while serving food and beverages efficiently and courteously.

• Prepare for cocktail parties, tea time, special events and other onboard food and beverage activities.

• Maintain assigned inventory and store stock according to required levels and sanitation procedures.

• Ensure dining areas, equipment, glassware and flatware are clean, polished and ready before service.

• Maintain mise-en-place and prepare assigned service areas according to operational standards.

• Support embarkation duties, including guest assistance, luggage handling and storing activities when assigned.

• Maintain professional communication and a positive attitude towards guests and team members.

• Follow all public health, environmental, safety, security, PPE and emergency procedures.

• Assist in other food and beverage areas or departments when operationally required.
