Jobs Kreate is recruiting on behalf of a client for a shipboard Head Waiter position. The successful candidate will support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily food and beverage operations, maintaining high guest-service standards and leading a multicultural restaurant team.

Important: Cruise ship grading may differ from land-based hospitality structures. Candidates may be offered a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role, subject to the cruise line’s assessment and operational requirements.

• Open to Malaysian and Singaporean citizens only.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Waiter or in a similar food and beverage service position within a 4-star or 5-star hospitality or restaurant environment.

• Previous onboard experience in a similar position is required.

• Basic food and beverage knowledge with the ability to work independently.

• Physically fit and in good health.

• Able to carry heavy items and stand, kneel or bend for extended periods.

• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

• Additional language abilities are an advantage.

• Flexible, able to work under pressure and committed to teamwork.

• Guest-focused and service-oriented with a professional appearance and high personal hygiene standards.

• Good knowledge of public health, sanitation and food safety requirements.

Salary

• Salary: USD 2,400

• Contract duration: 6 months

• Manage and organise the assigned service station while supervising Assistant Waiters or Café Attendants when required.

• Manage restaurant reservations, seating arrangements and room-service orders when assigned.

• Present menus, explain food and wine selections, recommend courses and answer guests’ questions.

• Take and relay orders accurately while serving food and beverages efficiently and courteously.

• Prepare for cocktail parties, tea time, special events and other onboard food and beverage activities.

• Conduct stock takes, manage assigned inventory and maintain the required stock levels.

• Ensure service areas and mise-en-place are fully prepared before service.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and equipment care.

• Support embarkation duties, including guest assistance, luggage handling and storing activities when assigned.

• Follow all public health, environmental, safety, security, PPE and emergency procedures.

• Remain flexible to support other food and beverage outlets or departments when operationally required.
