Job Description

Requirements

  1. A MIA member; or have the qualifications to apply; or in the process of obtaining the qualifications that would enable the candidate to apply for MIA membership in the near future.

  2. Graduate or finalist in professional accounting study in either CIMA, ACCA, CPA Australia, MICPA or graduate with Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from university.

  3. Minimum 5 years of prior accounting experience is essential and is currently working in the capacity of an Accounts Supervisor or Accounts Executive.

  4. Have understanding of MFRS, manufacturing accounts, costing, Malaysian taxation, E-invoice, SST and banking facilities.

  5. Experience in data backup, data recovery, cybersecurity, and ERP systems, with exposure to Payroll, Purchasing, Inventory Management, ISO audits, Business Intelligence reporting, Python programming, and AI prompting, will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and result-oriented Senior Accounts Executive to handle the financial operations of the company and its subsidiaries. This role requires a proactive professional with experience in accounting, costing, financial reporting, tax planning and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management, Costing & Reporting

  1. Prepare and submit financial statements, receivables and payables ageing reports, inventory listings, fixed assets registers, bank reconciliations, bank balances, and sales analysis reports in a timely manner.

  2. Maintain credit control measures, including override procedures based on customer payment history and creditworthiness. To take action on delinquent debtors.

  3. Handle tax planning processes.

  4. Prepare budget.

  5. Prepare payment vouchers, journal vouchers, and other accounting documents.

  6. Assist in banking matters, treasury activities, and foreign exchange risk management.

  7. Able to check accuracy of audited consolidated financial statement.

  8. Experience in coaching junior staff and coordinating their work to ensure efficiency and the timely delivery of reports.

  9. Serve as an effective communicator of company policies and ensure their consistent implementation as directed by the Board of Directors.

  10. Be prepared to perform ad hoc assignments as directed by Management, including business due diligence, debt recovery activities, and liaising with government authorities (e.g. the Royal Malaysian Customs Department and the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia) and external service providers (e.g. ERP providers) on regulatory, tax and e-invoice related matters.
