Job Summary
The Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of MNL’s upcoing battery recycling facility. This role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day plant operations while meeting production targets, maintaining high environmental standards, and driving continuous improvement in recycling processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and hands-on experience in recycling, waste management, or heavy industrial operations, with a deep commitment to safety and sustainability.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations & Production
Oversee daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable processing of used batteries and e-waste.
Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve production volume, quality, and efficiency targets.
Monitor and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, recovery rates, downtime, and operational costs.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and processing of hazardous materials in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full adherence to all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Lead risk assessments, implement safety protocols, and conduct regular audits and training programs.
Maintain compliance with environmental permits, ESG standards, and local/international regulations related to battery recycling.
Oversee waste management, emissions control, and pollution prevention measures.
Maintenance & Process Improvement
Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and technology upgrades to improve recycling efficiency and output quality.
Work closely with engineering and technical teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operators, technicians, supervisors, and support staff.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Manage staffing levels, shift schedules, and performance evaluations.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
Prepare regular operational reports on production, safety, environmental performance, and costs for senior management.
Collaborate with Business Development, ESG, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth inflow of feedstock and outflow of recycled materials.
Support audits, inspections, and certification processes with regulatory bodies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental), Industrial Operations, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in plant operations, preferably in battery recycling, waste management, or chemical processing.
Strong knowledge of hazardous material handling, environmental regulations, and safety standards .
Proven leadership experience managing operational teams.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
