Job Description

Requirements

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety and health policies and procedures in line with Malaysian regulations (e.g., OSHA) and company standards.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols across all construction activities.

  • Lead and participate in risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analysis (JSA) for all project phases.

  • Develop and deliver effective safety training programs to all employees and subcontractors, covering topics such as hazard communication, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.

  • Manage and coordinate emergency response plans, including drills and training, to ensure preparedness for any potential incidents.

  • Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, inspection logs, and training attendance, and prepare regular safety performance reports for management.

  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) on site.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and subcontractors on all safety-related matters.

  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization by actively engaging with employees at all levels and encouraging proactive safety behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs and policies in accordance with company standards and relevant Malaysian regulations (e.g., OSHA, Factories and Machinery Act).

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety procedures and best practices in construction environments.

  • Lead and manage the Green Book program, ensuring all personnel are properly trained and documented according to regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and execute Emergency Response Plans, including conducting drills and training employees on emergency procedures for various scenarios.

  • Investigate all workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and implement preventive measures.

  • Deliver engaging safety training and educational programs to all levels of employees, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

  • Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, training logs, inspection findings, and regulatory compliance documentation.

  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety considerations into all phases of project planning and execution.

  • Stay updated on the latest OHS legislation, industry standards, and technological advancements to continuously improve safety performance.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and insurance providers on safety-related matters.
