Requirements
Proven experience as a Baker, with a minimum of 1-2 years in a professional kitchen environment.
Possession of a Diploma in Baking, Culinary Arts, or a related field is required.
Proficiency in various baking techniques, including dough preparation, cake decorating, and pastry making.
Skilled in operating and maintaining commercial baking ovens and other kitchen equipment.
Thorough understanding and strict adherence to kitchen hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP, GMP).
Accurate ingredient measurement and recipe execution to ensure consistent product quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management skills to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Strong attention to detail for quality control and presentation of baked goods.
Willingness to learn new recipes and techniques as required by the cafe's menu.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
Accurately measure and mix ingredients, ensuring proper consistency and texture of doughs and batters.
Operate and maintain various baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, and dough sheeters, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
Monitor baking processes, adjusting temperature and time as needed to achieve optimal results and prevent burning or undercooking.
Implement and adhere to strict kitchen hygiene and food safety protocols, including proper sanitation of work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
Manage inventory of baking ingredients, notifying supervisors of low stock levels and assisting with receiving and storing deliveries.
Assist in the development of new recipes and product innovations, contributing creative ideas and conducting test bakes.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and readily accessible.
Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, and customer service.
