We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi, sashimi, maki rolls, nigiri, and other Japanese sushi items according to company standards.
- Ensure freshness and quality of all ingredients used in food preparation.
- Perform fish cutting, portioning, and ingredient preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the sushi counter, kitchen equipment, and work area.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control and ordering of ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, requirements.
- Minimize food wastage and control food costs.
- Assist in menu development and seasonal promotions when required.
- Work closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Train and guide junior sushi staff when necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 years of experience as a Assistant Sushi Chef, Sushi Chef or similar role.
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, fish handling, and Japanese cuisine.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn.
- Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
Pay: RM3,800.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
