Job Description

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (SPM/'O' Level) is required for this entry-level position.

  • Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with patients and colleagues.

  • Proficiency in patient scheduling and appointment management systems is necessary.

  • Strong organizational skills for efficient record keeping and managing patient information.

  • Basic understanding of infection control procedures within a dental setting is preferred.

  • Computer literacy, including familiarity with standard office software, is required.

  • Ability to speak and write fluently in both English and Bahasa Malaysia is mandatory.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn are crucial for success in this role.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of the team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to undergo training in dental assisting procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients warmly upon arrival, manage check-in and check-out procedures efficiently, and ensure a positive first impression of the dental clinic.

  • Schedule patient appointments accurately using the clinic's management system, manage cancellations and rescheduling, and send appointment reminders to minimize no-shows.

  • Answer phone calls professionally, address patient inquiries, provide basic information about services, and direct calls to the appropriate personnel.

  • Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality, including updating personal information, treatment histories, and insurance details.

  • Assist dental staff with basic chairside duties as needed, such as preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist.

  • Manage inventory of dental supplies, place orders when necessary, and ensure the reception area and treatment rooms are clean, organized, and well-stocked.

  • Handle patient billing and payment processing, including explaining charges, accepting payments, and issuing receipts.

  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff, following all established guidelines.
