Job Description

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Leader, or similar role for at least 1-2 years, demonstrating a strong understanding of kitchen operations.

  • Possess a Secondary School Certificate (SPM) or equivalent qualification ('O' Level).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team of 18 employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Proficiency in inventory management, including stock control, ordering, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.

  • Expertise in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to food safety, hygiene standards, and quality control.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English, enabling effective collaboration with team members, management, and suppliers.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment within The Mall Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru.

  • Willingness to uphold the company's values and contribute to a family-like atmosphere at The Founders Cafe.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to food safety standards for a team of 18 employees.

  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and conducting regular stocktakes to minimize waste and control costs.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized recipes and cooking procedures to ensure consistent product quality and presentation.

  • Train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment while promoting professional development.

  • Collaborate with management to plan menus, create specials, and manage food costs effectively.

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and in good working order, reporting any issues promptly.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
