ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in road construction projects (new construction and maintenance) and heavy machinery management.
• Experience in supervisory or site engineering roles.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Strong knowledge of JKR/standard road specifications and road construction methods (pavement construction).
• Proficiency in surveying, leveling, and the use of engineering surveying equipment.
• Knowledge of traffic management and construction site safety regulations.
• Computer literate in software such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and AutoCAD.

SITE ENGINEERING SUPERVISION (40%)

• Interpret engineering drawings and prepare work execution methods (Method Statement).
• Plan daily resource requirements (labour, materials, machinery) for roadwork activities.
• Lead the team in executing works from site clearing stage to surface layer completion.
• Ensure surveying, levels, and gradients are accurate using equipment such as total station or auto level.
• Provide technical instructions to Machinery Operators regarding laying, compaction, and finishing works.

QUALITY CONTROL AND SPECIFICATION COMPLIANCE (25%)

• Ensure each layer of work complies with JKR, ASTM specifications, and contract requirements.
• Supervise site testing such as field density tests and sample collection (coring).
• Ensure materials such as premix are delivered at the correct temperature and meet required specifications.
• Collaborate with third-party laboratories for material testing.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND LOGISTICS (15%)

• Optimize the use of materials (premix, aggregates) and machinery to avoid wastage.
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractor works to ensure quality and timely completion.
• Assign tasks to Site Supervisors and General Workers and ensure instructions are clearly understood.

SAFETY AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (10%)

• Be responsible for compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) procedures at site.
• Work closely with the Safety Officer to ensure the Traffic Management Plan is properly implemented.
• Ensure traffic signs, cones, and barricades are properly installed before work commences.

DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING (10%)

• Prepare daily progress reports, work quantity records, and variation work reports.
• Maintain laboratory test records and technical documents for reference and audit purposes.
• Report any technical issues or delays to the Head of Operations (HoD Operations).
