Requirements
Previous kitchen or pastry experience is an advantage, but entry-level candidates are welcome.
Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Arts or Pastry Arts is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of cooking/baking techniques and kitchen equipment.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Passion for cooking and pastry arts with a willingness to learn.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Positive attitude and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
Position Summary
Assist in daily kitchen operations by supporting food preparation, production, and kitchen maintenance. Ensure consistent food quality, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards while working closely with senior chefs to maintain efficient operations. Provide support across various kitchen sections, including pastry, ramen, yakiniku, and yakitori, based on operational needs (Japanese cuisine).
Carry out other duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or Head Chef.
Preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and dicing vegetables, fruits, and meats according to established recipes and standards.
Prepare and measure baking ingredients according to recipes and assist in baking preparation under supervision.
Assist with decorating and plating under supervision.
Assist in preparing mise en place (MEP) for daily kitchen operations.
Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely and consistent manner.
Perform dishwashing duties, ensuring all plates, utensils, and cookware are cleaned, dried, and stored properly to maintain kitchen hygiene and operational flow.
Keep track of inventory and assist in ordering food items when necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring all surfaces, tools, and equipment are sanitized before, during, and after food preparation to adhere to strict food safety and hygiene protocols.
Learn and execute basic culinary techniques under the guidance of senior kitchen staff, contributing to the efficient production of menu items.
Support the kitchen team with various tasks, such as stocking ingredients, preparing garnishes, and assisting with plating dishes during busy service periods.
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stoves, grills, and food processors, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
Follow instructions precisely and communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely delivery of high-quality food.
