Company Overview:
CKP Digital is a dynamic corporate services firm specializing in accounting, payroll management, business advisory as well as company secretarial solutions. They partner with businesses across various industries to enhance their digital capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate growth. From digital strategy and system implementation to performance marketing and analytics, CKP Digital is committed to driving measurable results and long-term value for their clients. The company fosters a collaborative and forward-thinking work environment where creativity, agility, and continuous learning are at the core of everything they do.
Role Summary:
The Senior Accountant serves as the internal technical anchor for CKP’s delivery team. The primary focus is on elevating the quality and consistency of work produced by the outsourcing team — through hands-on review, technical guidance on MFRS and tax matters, and structured process improvement. Client-facing responsibilities are secondary and only undertaken when necessary to support the team.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Review & Accounting Quality
Review and sign off on financial statements and management accounts prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with MFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
Provide technical guidance on MFRS treatment, tax positions, and disclosure requirements to support the team in resolving complex accounting judgements.
Flag quality issues and recurring errors in team output; maintain a feedback loop to drive continuous improvement in work quality across the outsourcing portfolio.
Technical Advisory & Internal Team Support:
Act as the internal go-to resource for tax and accounting technical questions, including income tax, SST, deferred tax, and complex MFRS scenarios (e.g. MFRS 15, MFRS 16).
Support team members in developing commercial awareness — helping them understand the business context behind the numbers and communicate financial insights effectively.
Engage with clients directly when escalation or specialist input is required; otherwise, equip the team to handle client communication independently.
Process Improvement & Outsourcing Excellence:
Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and error-prone steps in the outsourcing workflow; design and implement improved SOPs and checklists to raise output standards.
Identify risks, discrepancies, and recurring gaps across the outsourcing portfolio; recommend and track corrective actions to resolution.
Drive standardization of accounting deliverables across the team, leveraging tools such as Xero, Dext, and Syft to build scalable, repeatable workflows by working with Digital Transformation Team.
Client Engagement (Secondary):
Step in as a client-facing resource when escalation is warranted — for example, to address complex tax queries, reporting disputes, or audit support situations that exceed the team’s current capability.
Collaborate with internal teams (operations, Virtual CFO, advisory) to ensure client deliverables are technically sound and commercially relevant.
Support client-related engagements such as year-end audit facilitation, tax planning discussions, or financial advisory projects on an as-needed basis.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting and tax concepts clearly to team members of varying experience levels.
Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, MICPA, or equivalent) is preferred. Candidates with strong technical competency and relevant experience will be considered.
Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience, with a strong audit or technical accounting background. Prior experience in a professional services or outsourcing environment is highly advantageous.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
Proficiency with digital accounting tools such as Xero, Dext, or Syft is a strong advantage. A proactive approach to leveraging technology to improve team efficiency is expected.
Benefits:
EPF, SOCSO & EIS provided
Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
Comprehensive benefits package, including group personal accident insurance and dental benefit.
Supportive work culture.
Exposure to diverse industries and clients, providing valuable experience and insights.
Join our team and embark on a rewarding career with CKP!
