Job Description

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a Chinese Restaurant
  • Demonstrated expertise in menu development, recipe creation, and execution, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients.

  • Strong understanding of kitchen management, including staff training, scheduling, inventory control, and operational efficiency.

  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (e.g., HACCP), ensuring a clean and safe working environment.

  • Ability to manage and motivate a kitchen team of approximately 5-10 individuals.

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards of food quality and service during peak hours.

  • A passion for creating unpretentious, delicious food and contributing to a cheerful, cosy dining experience.

  • Willingness to adapt to evolving menu trends and customer preferences while maintaining the core brand identity of Wok Palace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and consistency in food preparation and presentation for a casual café chain.

  • Develop, test, and implement innovative menu items and specials that align with Coffee Hive's brand of unpretentious good food, utilizing local Singaporean flavors where appropriate.

  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storage of all food and beverage supplies, to minimize waste and control costs effectively.

  • Implement and enforce strict food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with all health regulations and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

  • Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment while ensuring high performance and adherence to established procedures.

  • Manage kitchen budgets, control food costs, and optimize labor expenses without compromising on the quality of ingredients or service.

  • Collaborate with management on menu planning, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
