Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field

Experience

• 3–7 years of experience in transformer or magnetic component design

• Proven experience in isolation transformer design for low‑voltage or medium‑power applications

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of transformer theory, magnetics, and power electronics

• Experience with core materials (EI, UI, toroidal, ferrite, laminated steel)

• Understanding of insulation systems, dielectric strength, and safety isolation principles

• Familiarity with thermal management and efficiency optimization

• Experience using design and simulation tools (e.g. Magnetics Design Software, FEM tools, CAD)

• Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings and technical documentation

Standards Knowledge (Preferred)

• IEC 61558, IEC 60601 (medical), UL 508, UL 60601, EN standards

• Understanding of insulation classes and safety certifications

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to manage multiple design tasks and deadlines

Work Environment

• Engineering office and laboratory environment

• Occasional interaction with manufacturing facilities and suppliers

Transformer Design & Engineering

• Design isolation transformers based on electrical, safety, and performance requirements

• Perform magnetic calculations including core selection, winding configuration, losses, and efficiency

• Design transformers for applications such as medical equipment, industrial power supplies, automation systems, and control panels

• Define insulation systems to meet isolation, creepage, and clearance requirements

Analysis & Validation

• Conduct thermal, electrical, and efficiency analysis to ensure compliance with specifications

• Evaluate short‑circuit, inrush current, and overload conditions

• Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities

• Analyze test results and implement design improvements

Standards & Compliance

• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (e.g. IEC, UL, EN, IEEE)

• Prepare technical documentation for certification and regulatory approvals

• Ensure safety, EMC, and reliability requirements are met

Documentation & Production Support

• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical datasheets

• Support transition from design to manufacturing

• Assist production teams with technical queries, design optimization, and cost reduction

• Provide technical support for customer inquiries and engineering changes

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, and quality teams

• Participate in design reviews and problem‑solving activities

• Identify opportunities for design standardization, cost optimization, and performance improvement
