Job Description

Requirements

  • SPM or Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate learning methodologies for kindergarten-aged children.
  • Ability to develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating creativity and play-based learning.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, including the ability to foster a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Possess a patient, enthusiastic, and nurturing demeanor, with a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Willingness to collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the overall educational goals of the school.
  • Basic understanding of curriculum development and adapting educational materials to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on best practices in early childhood education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and the school's curriculum.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social-emotional development.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement and age-appropriate strategies.
  • Assess student progress through observation, documentation, and informal assessments, providing feedback to parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student learning and well-being.
  • Plan and execute age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and outdoor play.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding their child's development, achievements, and any concerns.
  • Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning aids, and resources to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning community where all children feel valued and respected.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
