Position Summary
The role combines technical leadership, project coordination, service assurance and customer engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Product, Operations, regional technical teams, customers, carriers and vendors to ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially practical and delivered according to agreed timelines and service levels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Design and Pre-sales Support
- Work with the Sales and Product teams to understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Design solutions covering IP VPN, MPLS, DIA, IPLC/IEPL, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, data centre, managed network, security and ICT services.
- Prepare high-level and low-level designs, network diagrams, bills of materials, implementation plans and technical proposals.
- Conduct technical presentations, solution workshops, site surveys and proof-of-concept activities.
- Review solution feasibility, capacity, resilience, security, implementation risks and estimated delivery costs.
- Support tender and RFP responses, including technical compliance documents and solution clarifications.
2. Project Implementation and Service Delivery
- Lead or coordinate customer service implementation from order acceptance through testing, handover and service activation.
- Develop project schedules, assign technical activities and monitor delivery milestones.
- Coordinate local and international carriers, data centres, cloud providers, contractors and equipment vendors.
- Manage service testing, user acceptance testing, migration activities and production cutovers.
- Ensure complete and accurate project documentation, including configurations, test results, acceptance records and as-built diagrams.
- Identify delivery risks early and implement appropriate mitigation and escalation plans.
3. Network and Service Operations
- Support the availability and performance of customer connectivity, cloud and managed ICT services.
- Manage escalated incidents and coordinate troubleshooting among customers, internal teams, network operations centres and service providers.
- Perform or oversee root-cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed.
- Monitor SLA performance, service quality, capacity and recurring technical issues.
- Coordinate planned maintenance and service changes while minimising customer impact.
- Participate in an after-hours escalation or maintenance roster when required.
4. Customer and Stakeholder Management
- Act as a technical point of contact for assigned enterprise and carrier customers.
- Conduct service reviews and communicate incident status, technical findings and improvement plans clearly.
- Build productive working relationships with customers, regional teams, carriers, vendors and business partners.
- Translate complex technical matters into clear business and operational recommendations.
- Support Sales in customer meetings and identify opportunities for service upgrades or solution improvement.
6. Governance and Compliance
- Maintain proper technical records, change controls, asset records and service documentation.
- Ensure solutions and operations comply with company security policies, customer requirements and applicable Malaysian regulations.
- Support internal and external audits and close identified technical or operational gaps.
- Protect customer information and comply with applicable data-protection and confidentiality requirements.
- Follow health, safety, anti-bribery and business-continuity requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- At least five years of relevant experience in telecommunications, networking, cloud, data centre or ICT services.
- At least two years of experience leading technical projects, coordinating engineers or supervising vendors.
- Experience working for a telecommunications provider, managed-service provider, system integrator, cloud provider or data-centre operator is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise or carrier customers in a service-driven environment.
