Job Brief
Responsible for managing and enhancing learning programmes for audit and assurance staff. The role covers training needs identification, programme development and delivery, training content and e-learning development, CPD monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Firm’s learning and development initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Delivery
- Prepare and implement the annual training plan based on the technical, professional, regulatory and business needs of the audit and assurance practice.
- Manage learning programmes for audit and assurance staff, covering training needs identification, content development, delivery and evaluation.
- Deliver and facilitate technical and professional training for audit and assurance staff.
- Coordinate and facilitate L&D events and training activities, including event set-up and related arrangements.
Training Content & Digital Learning
- Prepare, review and enhance training materials, presentations, case studies, practical exercises and other learning resources, working with subject matter experts where appropriate.
- Enhance and implement recorded training and e-learning programmes, including interactive, animation-based and other technology-enabled learning solutions.
- Monitor developments in auditing, accounting standards, professional requirements and regulatory matters and incorporate relevant updates into training programmes.
Training Administration & CPD
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and maintain accurate training and CPD records for audit and assurance staff.
- Monitor mandatory training and CPD completion and maintain complete and accurate documentation for compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Manage external training registrations and monitor CPD compliance requirements for audit partners.
- Coordinate training schedules, venues, trainers and external training providers.
- Manage the L&D budget for the audit and assurance practice and monitor expenditure.
- Review and continuously improve L&D policies, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with Firm requirements and promote best practices.
- Coordinate HRD Corp grant applications and claims, where applicable, and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of learning programmes using feedback, participation data and learning analytics, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with audit leadership and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop appropriate learning solutions.
- Promote innovative and creative approaches to learning, including exploring new technologies and training methods.
- Contribute to L&D projects and other ad hoc assignments as required.
Job Requirements
- A recognised degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (MIA/ACCA/ICAEW/CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with audit and assurance experience and prior experience in training or lecturing highly preferred.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and effective training.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong planning, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an interest in using technology and digital tools to enhance learning.
- Creative and innovative, with a growth mindset and willingness to embrace new approaches and change.
- Proactive and results-oriented team player, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
