Job Title: Project Engineer (Automation & Construction)
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team at a leading global MNC in engineering and automation systems. You will play a pivotal role in supervising and coordinating the end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring seamless delivery and handover to our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Execution: Lead and manage projects from inception to handover, ensuring adherence to internal and client expectations regarding quality, budget, and delivery timelines. Mitigate risks and prevent Liquidated Damages (LD) through proactive planning and compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulation
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between internal departments, including Sales, Design (Mechanical, Structural, Electrical), Production, and Procurement/Material teams to ensure project alignment and operational efficiency
- Financial & Administrative Management: Oversee project financial health, including budget management, cash flow projections, and the timely submission of progress claims (WIP/DP/PG). Monitor and report project cost variances to management.
- Site & Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with Main Contractors, Consultants, and Owners regarding site facilities and project schedules. Manage client change requests while ensuring all deviations are commercially addressed and documented
- Quality & Safety Oversight: Enforce strict EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards and quality scopes of work for both internal teams and sub-contractors. Review and approve WSH documentation.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including filing minutes of meetings, to prevent claims and ensure proof of extension of time when necessary. Conduct bi-weekly project progress meetings with supervisors.
- Pre-Sales Support: Assist the sales team during the tender stage by providing accurate installation cost estimations and drafting preliminary project schedules
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience in Industrial Products project management, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) fundamentals and experience within construction/automation environments.
- Professional Attributes: Ability to interpret technical designs, manage budgets, and lead teams under pressure.
