Title - Senior Power BI Developer
Key Responsibilities
1. Power BI Dashboard Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards based on management and business requirements.
- Translate complex business data into clear, intuitive, and decision-oriented visualizations.
- Design dashboard layouts, KPI displays, filters, interactions, drill-down functionality, and role-based access.
- Develop and maintain standardized dashboard templates, visual guidelines, and development standards.
- Manage dashboard publishing, version control, scheduled refreshes, user access, and ongoing maintenance.
- Optimize dashboard performance, data-loading speed, and overall user experience.
- Continuously improve dashboards based on stakeholder feedback.
2. Data Processing and Data Modelling
- Connect to business systems, relational databases, and other relevant data sources.
- Use SQL to extract, integrate, aggregate, and validate data.
- Use Power Query to clean, transform, merge, and automate data processing.
- Design fact tables, dimension tables, star schemas, and relationships suitable for Power BI.
- Use DAX to develop KPIs, calculation logic, time intelligence, and analytical measures.
- Work with business stakeholders to confirm KPI definitions, calculation methodologies, data scope, and refresh frequency.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metric definitions, and dashboard documentation.
- Identify missing, duplicated, inconsistent, or abnormal data and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders.
3. Requirements Management and Delivery
- Develop a clear development, testing, and deployment plan based on confirmed dashboard requirements.
- Work with business stakeholders to confirm business scenarios, user roles, metric logic, and acceptance criteria.
- Translate business requirements into clear data models, dashboard pages, and development tasks.
- Produce dashboard prototypes and complete development, testing, and production deployment based on feedback.
- Manage development progress, testing results, issue logs, and version changes.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and track issues through to closure.
- Provide dashboard training, operating guidance, and go-live support.
- Monitor dashboard adoption, usage, and delivered business value.
4. Data Analysis and Business Insights
- Conduct trend, variance, conversion, and efficiency analysis using dashboard data.
- Support business teams in identifying operational issues, business changes, and improvement opportunities.
- Perform ad hoc analysis in response to specific management or business questions.
- Present clear and concise analytical findings, risk alerts, and business recommendations.
- Support periodic business reviews, management reporting, and special analytical projects.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- At least two years of hands-on Power BI dashboard development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Strong working knowledge of DAX and Power Query.
- Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to independently extract, integrate, aggregate, and validate data.
- Understanding of fact tables, dimension tables, star schemas, and fundamental data-modelling principles.
- Ability to independently manage the full dashboard development lifecycle, from requirement understanding and data preparation to deployment.
- Strong data-visualization and dashboard design skills.
- Experience working with multiple data sources, complex relationships, and role-based access controls.
- Strong attention to data accuracy, logical validation, and issue investigation.
- Good stakeholder communication, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, securities, foreign exchange, CFD, fintech, or another data-intensive industry.
- Experience developing executive dashboards or management reporting solutions.
- Knowledge of Power BI Row-Level Security, Gateway, Workspace, and permission management.
- Experience with large datasets, performance optimization, or incremental refresh.
- Familiarity with Python, advanced Excel, ETL tools, or data warehouses.
- Basic business-analysis and data-insight capabilities.
- Ability to read English-language field definitions, technical documentation, and business materials.
