About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and committed Mathematics Teacher to join The Sequoia Vision. You will play an important role in helping students strengthen their mathematical foundations, develop effective problem-solving skills and build confidence in Mathematics.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Student Development

1. Deliver engaging and effective Mathematics lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE syllabus

2.Teach students across relevant levels, depending on experience and subject competency:

• Upper Primary Mathematics
• Lower Secondary Mathematics
• E-Mathematics
• A-Mathematics
• JC H1/H2 Mathematics

3. Break down complex mathematical concepts into clear and easy-to-understand explanations

4. Adapt teaching approaches to suit students with different learning needs and abilities

5. Identify students' learning gaps and provide targeted guidance and support

6. Develop students' problem-solving techniques and examination skills

7. Conduct consultations and provide additional academic support when required

Student Progress & Classroom Management

1. Monitor and track students' academic progress

2. Provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement

3. Create a positive, encouraging and well-managed classroom environment

4. Build good rapport with students and encourage them to become confident and independent learners

5. Communicate students' progress and areas for improvement where required

Curriculum & Teaching Materials

1. Develop, review and refine:

• Lesson materials
• Worksheets
• Practice questions
• Revision resources
• Assessment materials
• Ensure teaching materials remain relevant to the latest MOE syllabus and examination requirements
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to continuously improve curriculum quality and teaching effectiveness

Training & Team Development

1. Participate actively in:

• Teacher training
• Lesson observations
• Teaching practice sessions
• Team meetings
• Professional development
• Be receptive to feedback and continuously improve teaching effectiveness
• Support academic programmes, workshops and centre initiatives when required

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Economics or another relevant quantitative discipline
• Strong foundation in Mathematics
• Good understanding of the Singapore MOE Mathematics syllabus
• Able to explain mathematical concepts in a clear, structured and student-friendly manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, responsible and comfortable working with students of different abilities
• Able to manage a classroom effectively
• Willing to learn, receive feedback and continuously improve as an educator
• Comfortable working in a tuition-centre environment, including weekends
• Fresh graduates with a strong Mathematics foundation and genuine interest in teaching are welcome to apply

Good to Have

• Prior teaching or tutoring experience
• Experience teaching Secondary E-Math and A-Math
• Ability to teach JC H1/H2 Mathematics
• Familiarity with PSLE, O-Level and/or A-Level examination requirements
