About the Role
We are looking for a software engineer who thinks from first principles , challenges assumptions, and enjoys solving complex real-world problems.
This role is not only about building software. It is about understanding how supply chain operations truly work, how decisions are made, where friction exists, and how technology can create better outcomes .
You will work at the intersection of:
Supply chain operations
Routing and planning
Operational decision-making
Automation and AI
System design and software engineering
Data and business intelligence
We are not looking for engineers who simply build features. We are looking for engineers who can observe how work is done, understand how decisions are made, identify underlying constraints, and translate operational judgment into software. Whether the challenge involves routing freight, allocating carrier capacity, handling operational exceptions, coordinating shipments, improving visibility, or designing operational workspaces, the goal remains the same:
Build systems that help people make better decisions and move freight more effectively.
The Kind of Problems You Will Work On
Examples of problems you may work on include:
Operational Workspace & Coordination
Create systems that help operations teams see and manage the entire operational picture.
Connect shipments, bookings, containers, schedules, documents, exceptions, and operational knowledge into a unified experience.
Design tools that support planning, coordination, collaboration, and execution.
Routing & Carrier Planning
Design routing solutions that help select optimal carrier and sailing options.
Build logic that evaluates schedules, transit times, service commitments, capacity constraints, customer requirements, and operational trade-offs.
Develop systems that respond intelligently to schedule changes, blank sailings, delays, congestion, and disruptions.
Improve visibility into allocation performance, carrier commitments, and routing effectiveness.
Decision Intelligence & Automation
Transform operational knowledge, SOPs, and planning rules into scalable software.
Build recommendation engines, automation capabilities, and decision-support tools.
Help operators focus on exceptions and judgment-intensive decisions rather than repetitive work.
Design systems that provide transparency, explainability, and trust in automated recommendations.
Data & System Challenges
Work with complex business entities and relationships.
Design scalable data models and operational workflows.
Build integrations with customers, carriers, vendors, and enterprise platforms.
Ensure systems remain responsive, reliable, observable, and maintainable as they grow.
What We Value
We care more about how you think than the specific technologies you have used.
We value people who:
Think from first principles.
Challenge assumptions and conventional thinking.
Seek to understand root causes rather than treating symptoms.
Enjoy untangling complex systems and discovering how things really work.
Are naturally curious and continuously learning.
Can balance deep analysis with practical execution.
Prefer simplicity over unnecessary complexity.
Build solutions that are durable and scalable.
Earn trust through ownership, reliability, and quality.
Care about business outcomes as much as technical outcomes.
Maintain high standards while remaining humble and open to new ideas
Key Responsibilities
Understand the Business
Learn how global supply chain operations function in the real world.
Work closely with operations teams, business analysts, product owners, and customers.
Study how planning, booking, routing, allocation, scheduling, and exception management are performed.
Identify inefficiencies, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
Design Solutions
Translate operational challenges into software solutions.
Design clear business models, workflows, decision logic, and user experiences.
Simplify complexity while preserving business capability.
Participate in architecture discussions and technical design activities.
Build Systems
Develop high-quality software across backend, frontend, integration, and data layers.
Build operational platforms, routing solutions, automation systems, and decision-support tools.
Ensure systems are reliable, secure, maintainable, and scalable.
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Deliver Results
Focus on measurable business outcomes.
Improve operational efficiency, visibility, accuracy, and decision quality.
Deliver solutions that users trust and choose to use.
Continuously refine systems based on operational feedback and real-world learning.
Who We’re Looking For
3+ years of software development experience.
Possess strong programming fundamentals.
Enjoy solving business and operational problems, not just technical ones.
Like understanding how systems, processes, and people interact.
Are comfortable working through ambiguity and complexity.
Can break large problems into manageable pieces.
Think critically and independently.
Take ownership and pride in your work.
Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively.
Enjoy learning new technologies, industries, and domains.

You May Enjoy This Role If...
You often ask "Why?" before asking "How?"
You enjoy understanding how complex systems work.
You like solving operational and business problems.
You enjoy transforming complexity into clarity.
You are interested in logistics, supply chains, planning, routing, and optimization.
You prefer practical impact over technology trends.
You like building systems that people rely on every day.

What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is not measured only by code written or features delivered.
Success means:
Better decisions are made.
Operational complexity becomes easier to manage.
Visibility improves.
Planning becomes more efficient.
Exceptions are handled more effectively.
Automation reduces repetitive effort.
Systems remain simple, maintainable, and scalable.
Users trust the solutions we build.
