About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Digital Workplace Engineer to design, build, migrate, and support modern workplace solutions across SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Azure.
The role will focus on digitising business processes, improving collaboration and document management, and modernising legacy SharePoint environments, including migrations from SG-DCS and SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online.
The successful candidate will also use AI-assisted tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Copilot Studio responsibly to improve development, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and user adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and administer SharePoint Online sites, intranet portals, collaboration spaces, document libraries, lists, permissions, and information architecture.
- Configure and support SharePoint on-premises, including SharePoint 2013 and later versions.
- Plan and execute SharePoint upgrades and migrations from SharePoint 2013, SG-DCS, and other legacy environments to SharePoint Online.
- Perform migration assessment, content analysis, remediation, testing, cutover, validation, and post-migration support using ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager, or equivalent tools.
- Develop custom SharePoint solutions using SPFx, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Microsoft Graph API.
- Build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions to digitise and automate business processes.
- Implement solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Lists, Microsoft Forms, and Dataverse where appropriate.
- Gather business requirements and translate existing processes into practical solution designs and delivery plans.
- Integrate Microsoft 365 solutions with Azure services, REST APIs, and enterprise applications using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, and secure integration patterns.
- Support document and records management requirements, including metadata, permissions, retention, auditability, and information governance.
- Implement secure identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID, app registrations, delegated permissions, and least-privilege principles.
- Use Azure Storage, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor to support secure and maintainable workplace solutions.
- Maintain development and CI/CD workflows using Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, REST APIs, and Postman.
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Copilot Studio to improve productivity, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and user support.
- Provide solution documentation, user training, adoption guidance, and ongoing support.
- Work within Agile teams to design, build, test, release, and continuously improve digital workplace solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of relevant experience developing SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and digital workplace solutions in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint on-premises, including SharePoint 2013 or later versions.
- Proven experience planning and executing SharePoint upgrades and migrations to SharePoint Online, including assessment, remediation, testing, cutover, and post-migration support.
- Hands-on experience with migration tools such as ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager, or equivalent.
- Strong experience building Power Apps and Power Automate solutions for workflow and business process automation.
- Experience delivering intranet, collaboration, document management, and records management solutions using Microsoft 365.
- Practical development experience with SPFx, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Microsoft Graph API.
- Experience integrating Microsoft 365 with Azure services, REST APIs, and enterprise systems.
- Working knowledge of Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Storage, Key Vault, Microsoft Entra ID, and Azure Monitor.
- Experience with Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, CI/CD, REST APIs, and Postman.
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform ecosystem, including SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Lists, Microsoft Forms, and Dataverse.
- Practical AI literacy and experience using AI-assisted tools to support requirements analysis, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements-gathering skills.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams, including backlog refinement, sprint delivery, testing, release planning, and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication, documentation, and user support skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience delivering large-scale SharePoint modernisation and migration programmes, particularly involving SG-DCS, SharePoint 2013, SharePoint Server, or other legacy collaboration platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, or other AI-enabled workplace solutions.
- Exposure to Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Foundry.
- Experience working within government, regulated, or security-conscious enterprise environments.
- Experience with Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) or similar controlled cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 compliance, retention, audit, records management, and information governance.
- Experience creating reusable templates, components, automation patterns, or digital workplace adoption playbooks.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Power Platform practitioner who can work hands-on while engaging directly with business users.
You should be comfortable designing and developing solutions, automating manual processes, and managing end-to-end SharePoint migration projects from legacy environments to SharePoint Online. You should also have practical Azure integration experience and be able to use AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve productivity and solution quality.
